Personalized photo ribbon
magnets for fallen soldiers now can include medals
awarded, in addition to the photo, date and
location, and unit crests.
Photo dog tags are provided at no
charge to the immediate family as a small token of
appreciation for their sacrifice.
Ozark, MO (PRWEB)
March 6, 2007 -- Designs on Demand now can picture
military medals on their custom photo ribbon magnets
for fallen soldiers, and they are continuing their
policy of personalized photo dog tags at no charge
for the immediate family of fallen soldiers.
"We began offering black ribbon magnets in 2005,"
said Margaret Scheperle, marketing director. "The
complete personalization we do, with soldiers'
photos, date and location of death, unit crest,
personalized message, and now medals touches the
soldier's family and friends, and helps keep their
memories alive."
The magnets can include medals the soldier has
earned, such as Purple Heart, Bronze Star,
Meritorious Service, War on Terrorism Expeditionary
and many more. The company has worked with scans of
the soldier's actual medals when needed. Medals can
be added to ribbon-shaped magnets as well as those
with a rectangular flag background, and 3-4 will fit
on the ribbon-shaped magnets and 4-6 on the
rectangular.
"Along with the personalized photo magnets, photo
dog tags are also precious memories to family and
friends of the fallen soldier," said Scheperle. "We
felt it was a small token of our appreciation for
their sacrifice to offer dog tags at no charge to
the immediate family -- parents, grandparents,
siblings, spouse and children." Designs on Demand
offers a reduced rate on tags for friends and
extended family.
"We began the policy after we had done dog tags for
a soldier from Michigan," said Scheperle. "When we
got the word that she had been killed, we felt we
had known her personally. We wanted to do something
to honor her memory." The company has since then
given away more than 400 tags to the families of
some 80 soldiers.
In addition, upon request the company will set up a
personalized web order page for a soldier. "In this
way, everyone can receive a group rate," says
Scheperle, "but the coordinating, paying for and
distributing the orders does not have to go through
a family member during the difficult time of loss."
Designs on Demand respects the soldier and family's
sacrifice, and does not contact any family on its
own. The offer of no-charge dog tags has no
expiration date.
