About our company, Designs on Demand
Designs on Demand began as a family business in 1998, building on the experience Margaret had in reporting on the competition for Hallmark Cards' electronic businesses, including photos and memories. Husband Darrel, an architect, had been interested in moving to self employment and was able to come full time in 2004.
The sublimation process is the backbone of the product line, with its brilliant full-color reproduction in quantities of one to 1000 on a wide variety of products. The skills acquired in Photoshop for photo enhancement and CorelDraw for precision placement allow the company to create high quality products.
"Happy accidents" are one of the ways the company has innovated through the years. Noticing images getting onto the backs of dog tags led to double-sided dog tags, an industry first. Receiving requests from customers led to fabric patches and personalized photo yellow ribbon magnets. Innovating is one of the most enjoyable parts of the business.
The best part of the business is in pleasing customers. Family memories, corporate recognition events, and military communication across the miles are just a few of the situations that have touched us.
